My nan was the sweetest lady you could ever meet. She was 99 years old when she passed away, she was blind and very immobile but she had all her faculties and was a great person with a fab sense of humour.
She loved her life, and loved her family. Jac my son loved her, he was 3 when she died but he still remembers her as nanny banana, she always gave him bananas when we went to see her.
She was in hospital towards the end of her life as she'd had a fall. I went to see her and she stroked my face. Do not cry when i go she said, i want you to be happy, i no it won't be long now.
I never saw my Nan again as she passed soon after.
Since losing my dear nan i've had depression and panic attacks which i've felt guilty about as she told me to be happy.
I miss her so much but i no she was ready to go as she wanted to be reunited with her husband Cliff and my Dad.
My nan used to keep a photo of her husband, my grandad who i never got to meet. I now have that photo, next to it i have a photo of my nan so they are still togetether. If my son moves it i always move it back, it feels right they should be by each other.

ANGELS AND FAIRIES

I believe in angels,
And I believe in fairies, too,
They're not one and the same, you know,
They are distinctly two.
Angels are within the heart,
Fairies ... in the mind,

Fairies like to tease and play,

Like easing fears and wiping tears,
And hugging with their wings

Angels are assigned by God,
They very rarely show,
Fairies oft are seen in dreams,
And, at will, they come and go.

Fairies live in fantasies,
They are wee, tiny things,
They flit about erratically,
On dainty gossamer wings.

Angels, though, are very real,
They come in different sizes,
Large, medium, small, petite,
It's hard to recognize them.
∗
Fairies make all people smile,
Young and old alike,
To see one bathing in the dew,
Is a pure delight.
∗
Angels, on the other hand,
May fill our eyes with tears;
We're overwhelmed with gratitude,
They've watched over us for years.
∗
When we've been saved from trouble,
It's not coincidence,
God's placed angels in our path,
To stand up in our defense.
∗
Fairies offer fun and frolic,
Both to small folk and full-grown,
But when people's lives are over,
Then angels take them home.
∗
God's angels and earth's fairies,
I think are quite essential,
They surely are related,
For both are quintessential.

Hi Nan, hoping you are well and enjoying your life back with Grandad and all your other loved ones - friends and family.
I was hoping to hear from you last night but then later found out from Mum that you didn't really believe in being contacted and you felt that family and loved ones who had passed should be left to rest. I'm sorry I hope I haven't upset you, it would destroy me to think i'd upset you. I'm sure you'd forgive me anyway for hoping as you know how much I love and miss you.
You take care Nan and rest well. I love and miss you beyond words and Jac still remembers you with fond memories too. You were a Nan in a million, you will never be forgotten - a truely beautiful, lovely, gentle lady, my Nan.
